About this place
At Daikoku, a yakitori restaurant in Daido, Tennoji Ward, Osaka, dinner can be built around a few skewers, with small plates and rice dishes added as you go. Negima and seseri skewers are ¥120 each, while chicken skin and gizzard are ¥100 each, giving diners a choice of cuts. One visitor also singled out the pork belly, pork loin and chicken skin, saying they enjoyed them enough to order more.
Between skewers, try small plates such as ume cucumber and rolled omelette, or deep-fried tofu. Vegetable skewers include asparagus, white leek and shiitake mushrooms. To finish, there are grilled rice balls (2) and ochazuke with seaweed or plum. Small portions of rice, chicken soup and miso soup are also available, so you can keep the meal light and skewer-focused or add rice and soup.
The drinks include draft beer, shochu and chūhai with a choice of flavours, including lemon. It is a good fit for an evening pairing skewers with a drink. Dining in and reservations are available.
